I say, "Go for it!" When you do, let me know where and I'll be a conservative feminist backing you up. I think you may be surprised--I argue with my conservative friends often (that feminist thing) and when I present a logical argument, I don't get too much harassment. You might want to avoid some terminology like "dick swinging" though....LOL

Well I don't know if the dick fi---er, well, I get your point ;) I'm thinking of joining Rumble, since YouTube will absolutely ban me if I speak out on transgender issues. Although they seem to be fairly piecemeal about who they ban and why. Still, I've been banned enough for the last few years - if the right is more hospitable to free speech, then I guess there will I go - with my content, not politically. Still sticking with level-headed leftyism.

Huh, interesting article. Like you, I don't believe women are any less intelligent in terms of available gray processing matter. Didn't make any sense to me that women and men couldn't compete in chess together. Like a biological computer though, some capabilities have to do with software which has been written in humans over the eons. Don't know any men who can do multiple tasks at once with the same efficiency, and most (not all) of the women I've known weren't interested in STEM or serving as a combat soldier. I suspect that many worthy strategic decisions or revolutionary discoveries have been whispered into a man's ears by a woman who never received credit. One other consideration: hormones may have an impact on confidence and brain responses. But, when it comes to intellectual pursuits like chess, even if men have some degree of programming advantage (nothing proven), there will be a percentage of women who can win, love stem, have highly developed spatial awareness, think on a strategic level, and must be able to compete on a level playing field--just like for jobs. For that reason, I recommend biological women be allowed to compete with bio men and the reverse on any intellectual activity. Final point, confidence can be easily leaned through success and the only way to learn is by doing.

Y'know I never even considered the hormonal aspect! I mean, the RLS article mentioned how testosterone gives men that win-at-all-costs mentality! I wonder if estrogen has some magic property that can help women beat men at chess :)

The STEM thing is what really makes me suspect women aren't yet living up to their own potential. They may be brilliant; they may have brains Einstein would envy; but when faced with the boys-will-be-boys all-male environment where Estrogen now dwells, they tend to drop out. They don't want to deal with male BS, harassment, etc. What the guys are doing isn't right but it's what they'll need to learn to deal with if they're going to succeed in STEM, and on a more evolutionary level, maybe reaching for what you want to achieve *despite* male bias, privilege, entitlement, harassment, abuse, etc., that that's what will develop the skills to succeed in chess and other primarily male pursuits too (of the mind anyway).

It's tough. I've been thinking about it as I contemplate promoting my blog and website on the Wild Wild West 'right wing shithole' platforms and social media, which is gonna be primarily male and they'll probably rip me several new ones, although I think I'll find some like-minded people there too who appreciate a lefty who stands up to the left. Am I ready for it? I wonder. All the intellectual dick-swinging and cutting people down and insulting them? I think it's something I need to do to explore further taking back my power, but at least I won't be canceled there, LOL.

If I can survive on Rumble maybe I will really develop my power muscles. OTOH, I have to be careful of the ones that might come under government surveillance (like Gab, the Late Not So Great Parler and Truth Social) have.

It’s true; we may never know whether women can outperform men in certain cognitive functions. And we are unlikely to find out soon since research into this area is not supported by the current scientific establishment. Asking questions like you ask in this article is considered threatening to the powers that be, much like questioning the orthodoxy that trans women are no different from natal females. It might be a while before these mysteries are solved.

But you make an excellent point: there is no reason why men should not compete with women in chess. It might shed some light on the question of male/female intelligence differences.

Great article!

I don't think research will answer the question; I think it may take many generations of social evolution, possibly, for women to catch up to men. Or maybe they'll do it sooner. I see a lot of behaviours and resistance in women, including myself, which makes me wonder whether we're still very much getting in our own way.
