I'm sorry, but after watching protesters carrying Nazi symbols on their signs and screaming kill all Jews, along with the crowning of Dylan Mulvaney as "Woman of the Year" I'm done with the social justice warrior BS. Have some groups been marginalized and oppressed--absolutely, and that is NEVER okay. What this industry has become however, is just another human power play to gain influence, money, and further divide people into acceptable and non-acceptable groups. This movement may have been started with the best of intentions, but it's now trending toward unhinged fanaticism. I'll give you the example which clarified this for me. There is no possibility that I can proclaim I know what it's like to be black, since I'm white, and I haven't lived that experience. So how in the world can a trans woman make the claim that they are a woman? Forget biology, if a man feels like he's a woman and dresses like one, it's their right and I say go for it. What they can't do though is pretend they know what it's like to be born a woman and live in that skin. They will never have experienced that first awful period, or monthly bloating and mood swings, or the fear that your boobs aren't growing. Nor will they know what it's like to carry a child, be bullied by much bigger men, or made to feel less intelligent and capable because of the body you were born to. Perhaps when they change, if they actually look like a woman (and many don't), they can experience some of it, but they can't know it. It pisses me off--just one more power play to influence and control. I will always try to see individuals no matter the specifics of sex, skin color, religion, or financial origins, but will do everything in my own power to stop the looting and hatred of the social justice movement.
