I was born in 1961, so my formative school years were the entire 1970s. There was no such thing as other kids committing suicide because they could not have their breasts or balls cut off. What is happening these days is insane, especially for adults to mutilate children to "save" them."
Republicans may be Team Stupid (OK, there is no "may be" about it), but this really confirms that the Democrats are Team Evil. To claim a minor cannot smoke or drink or get a tattoo or vote or drive or enter into a contract, etc., because they are too young to understand the implications, but then turn around and chemically/surgically castrate them because they play with the wrong toys.
I'd call them both equal parts stupid and evil. They differ a bit in how, but they're both evil, and in the end you don't want either in charge, because Nazi rule sucks just as much as Communist rule.
When the shit comes down re 'transgender children', we need to hold the parents who *allowed* this as much as we can. Progressive parents don't know how to say 'no' to their children, so when the day comes when the kid diddlers come for their children and argue, "Who are you to tell your son he can't suck my dick? He says he likes to!" they will go along with it, because they will buy the argument that if a kid can decide s/he's the opposite gender, they can decide who to have sex with.
We probably disagree on the Nazis versus communists part, but I am a small l libertarian who mostly wants to be left alone. But we very much agree on the kids not being told no (adults too). I do worry about kids with super proggie parents who might mutilate their kids as a status symbol. Religious cults can be tough on kids, but at least they don't castrate and cross dress them for virtue signaling. Anyway, thanks for allowing me to comment
You scared me there thinking about parents using this as a status symbol...or just taking advantage of it. I hope no one is doing that. It's super-expensive and who the hell would do this to their kid unless they really thought they might commit suicide??? OTOH, religious cults tend to sexually abuse kids so either way, your kid is---uh, ruined for life. ;(
I’ve often wondered why there are so many transgender people at this point in history. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that autism is also on the rise. Autism involves rigidity and black-and-white thinking. I’ve read some thoughtful articles on this in Quillette. It makes sense that a young autistic person might think something like “I don’t feel female, so I must be male.” This kind of thinking must be interrogated before any irreversible procedures are performed. On the whole, we need to do a lot more research on this phenomenon before we create therapies that might do more harm than good.
I don't know that autism is on the rise, but that perhaps it's being diagnosed more often now. With the newer public attention to autism more people are asking for diagnosis and maybe doctors are better-trained to recognize it when they see it.
I read yesterday that there were very, very few 'trans kids' before 2010. It is, in my opinion, an entirely manufactured phenomenon by the progressive left; it happens a helluva lot less in conservative and working-class families.
