I certainly belonged in that category. But as one approaches maturity, some revision is necessary. Ms. Watson just celebrated her 34th birthday on April 15th. Maybe she’s decided to put aside childish things like extreme trans activism. Maybe she’s starting to see some shades of gray in the black-and-white world of totalizing tribal loyalties. Maybe she’s growing up. For her sake, I hope so.
To pick a child to star in your movies requires three things,
They look the part, can remember lines and will do as they’re told.
Doesn’t mean they can grow up into a true and inspired actor.
None of the Harry Potter kid’s “acting” can compare to that of Alan Rickman, Maggi Smith, Michael Gambon, or Gary Oldman.
